Profhilo FAQs
-
Profhilo is made of hyaluronic acid (HA). It contains 50% high weight HA and 50% low weight HA. HA attracts water and therefore provides a moisturising effect in the skin. It has also been shown to stimulate collagen production pathways and assist in wound healing.

Whilst Profhilo and dermal fillers are both made of hyaluronic acid, the molecules in Profhilo and not linked together, and therefore do not hold shape in the way that a dermal filler does. After your treatment it is possible to have small raised areas where Profhilo has been injected. These usually settle within a day. Bruises after a Profilo treatment are not common because the injections are very superficial. However, any injectable treatment comes with a small risk of a bruise. These can take a few days to settle but can be covered with make-up from the day after the treatment.
