Microneedling

Microneedling is performed using a certified medical device to create controlled damage to the top layers of the skin. The skin is stimulated to heal with an improvement in quality. Great for acne scarring, minor scars and maturing skin.

 FAQs Microneedling

  • Microneedling is great because it is suitable for all skin types. Whether you just want a skin refresher or to treat a concern such an acne scarring, microneedling is a lovely non-injectable treatment.

There are some patients for whom it is not recommended:

    • Have used Roaccutane (isotretinoin) within the last 6 months.

    • Have open wounds, cuts or abrasions to the skin.

    • Have had radiation treatment within the last year.

    • Have a current outbreak of herpes simplex (cold sores) active acne, or any other infection or chronic skin condition in the area to be treated.

    • Are pregnant or breast feeding.

    • Have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing.

  • Generally, this treatment is sold as a package of 3 with each treatment spaced by 3-4 weeks. After this, a treatment every 8 weeks will keep your skin refreshed.

  • Before your treatment a local anaesthetic cream will be applied to the skin for 20-30 minutes. With this, patients find the treatment very comfortable.

  • For a few hours after your treatment your face will be red, like a moderate sunburn. Following this it may feel tight and dry for a few days. To mitigate this, you will go home with an Epionce after-care kit to sooth and moisturise the skin. This includes a priming oil, soothing cream, cleanser and firming mask.
