Small chin ( retracted when looking at profile)
Mild-moderate jowls
Stubborn fat under the chin

Dr Nicola Vella will apply local anaesthetic cream to the area for 20-30 mins prior to your treatment. The number of injections is kept to a minimum and a cannula is used for optimum comfort, safety and result. A cannula is a thin tube that is inserted under the skin and deposits filler smoothly and evenly. This is not painful and is well tolerated by patients. If you have concerns about pain, please discuss this with Nicola during your consultation.

Chin and jaw filler lasts 12-18 months.

Jaw filler is used strategically in different ways for different patients. If you want to correct mild-moderate jowling, filler would be placed either side of this area rather than where the jowling is. This gives the illusion of a straighter jawline and is quite effective at disguising jowls. This therefore does not contribute to any sagging in this area.

In some cases, chin and jaw filler is effective at reducing the appearance of fat beneath the chin that is causing a double chin. This is because it elongates the chin area, lifting the area below the chin. Dr Nicola Vella will assess you individually to see whether this would be suitable for you.

Jaw and chin filler is one of the least likely filler treatments to migrate. This is because it is a very strong filler and stays in the correct place once settled. Chin filler in particular is placed deep within the chin and providing it is placed correctly, it has nowhere it can go. Dr Nicola ensures that both chin and jaw filler is placed into the correct area of the jaw in order to prevent migration.

Chin and jaw filler can give the appearance of a lifted jowl. It does this by placing filler at the side of the chin and at the corner of the jaw. This gives a slimming appearance. Mild jowling can sometimes be lifted with cheek filler but usually further treatments such as PDO threads of surgery are needed.
